The Knux – Remind Me in 3 Days
Im sure you can agree with me that hip-hop has taken a strange turn these days. A new type of hip-hop has emerged from this. Its called hipster hip-hop. Hipster hip hop is essentially made up of groups and rappers such as the Cool Kids and Asher Roth.
So here comes two brothers new to the rap scene that call themselves The Knux with their debut album “Remind Me in 3 Days.” What should you make of this group and their music?
The tracks to check out are F!RE, Parking Lot, Playboy, and Bang Bang. With their experimental beats and nonchalant lyrics The Knux are perfect to sit back and chill to. But if your looking for lyrics with substance then they are not for you
Revenge of The Nerds
There is a new subgenre of rap popping up around the country, and it is as far from gangsta as it can get. “Nerdcore” is what it’s called and its growing. Its rap “by nerds for nerds.” Artists like MC Frontalot and mc chris are rapping about Star Wars and internet porn, and selling out venues while doing it. Mc chris may argubally be the most succesful artist from this genre. He has done voice work for Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021. He has also been featured on the Warped Tour for the last two years. So is this the direction that rap is heading or is this just a phase that rap is going through.
